Junior Accounts Payable Analyst

This position is for early career who has the desire and ability to grow within AP.  We have a complex accounting team who supports global operations.  Here you will challenged with interesting work in an evolving and growing technology firm with a rich history or stability.  The Accounts Payable Analyst will be responsible for supporting daily Accounts Payable processes in a global, public, manufacturing company.  This position reports directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Junior Accounts Payable Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Accounts Payable Analyst’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive, verify, and process a high volume of invoices on a daily basis
  • Accurately code and apply each invoice
  • Analyze and work with various departments to research and resolve problem invoices in a timely manner
  • Full-cycle AP Processing including weekly payments to suppliers
  • Maintain the global supplier master file as a member of the Supplier Master Data team located in the corporate office
  • Maintain SOX controls as they relate to the AP function
  • Annual 1099 IRS reporting
  • Maintain supplier relationships with constant and timely communication
  • Research and resolve any supplier issues relating to payments or invoices
  • Monthly preparation of accruals for month-end close
  • Maintain professional customer service (both internal and external customers)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of recent, constant Accounts Payable experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma required; AA degree preferred
  • Extremely detail oriented with the ability to maintain a very high level of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting fundamentals including the 3-way match process and accrual accounting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Accustomed to working under and meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Thorough understanding of bank processing, ACH and wire transactions, checks, foreign currency, and international payments
  • Working knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable systems
  • Quick learner and a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with the team currently in place
