Scrum Master

As a member of this multi-disciplinary team you will be involved in every aspect of next generation data-driven products (ideation, development, and customer integration). This would require deep understanding of UEI’s core technologies ranging from embedded Linux applications for TVs, STBs and Game Consoles, Android & iOS Mobile applications as well as back-end Data Infrastructure and cloud services.

Responsibilities

As a member of this multi-disciplinary team you will be involved development of:

1.  Internally driven core assets such as embedded applications for consumer electronics, data infrastructure development and cloud services

2.  Customer specific releases for major brands in consumer electronics or service provider segments

This would require deep understanding of UEI’s core technologies ranging from embedded Linux applications for TVs, STBs and Game Consoles, Android & iOS Mobile applications as well as back-end Data Infrastructure and cloud services.

This role will be the primary interface into this multi-disciplinary Software & Services division of the company, and has responsibility to lead the overall development & delivery of the final solutions across the embedded, mobile and data infrastructure departments.

  • Scrum master, Facilitate cyclical Scrum meetings and remove impediments
  • Help teams move toward the full Scrum framework
  • Work with the Product Owner(s) to maintain the backlog
  • Organize backlog of features, epics, stories, and tasks in JIRA
  • Provides visibility into program health, progress, and impediments by compiling, analyzing, and presenting statistics
  • Must be able to assess scope and define timelines, plans, and roadmap
  • Act as a Project Manager when necessary. Take responsibility for managing outliers - tasks and dependencies between our software development teams, external customers or product teams
  • Build and track both the Release Plan and the Scrum/Iteration plan
  • Outline product’s verification and testing plan and work closely with both Beta testers and IV&V
  • Assist with prioritization and resolution of software defects
  • Interface with Program Management Office to ensure project goals and requirements are being met
  • Help with customer specific releases, working closely with Program Management as the primary interface into the development team

Desired Skills and Experience

 

  • Required – Out of the box thinker, and a natural leader
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field with 8+ years of experience, graduate degree preferred. 
  • Possess a strong technical background and able to learn & apply new topics quickly and efficiently
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, and highly comfortable with C-Level interactions
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an Agile, technical environment required. Certified Scrum Master preferred
  • Prior experience in a role that required Product and/or Software Project Management required
  • Prior experience in hands-on Software Development required
  • Prior experience in embedded applications, web technologies, mobile application development, or data infrastructure development is a plus
